Shorts In Season Film Festival is a quarterly celebration of bold, brilliant short films made in Europe or by European filmmakers. The festival exists because we believe short indie films deserve a proper spotlight, a big screen, and a real audience.

Based in Berlin — one of Europe’s most vital creative capitals — we host our screenings at the iconic b-ware! Ladenkino, a beloved underground cinema nestled in Friedrichshain. Gritty, intimate, and full of character, the venue reflects everything we love about the Berlin arts scene: DIY spirit, eclectic taste, and a fierce sense of community. It’s a place where filmmakers meet, talk, and connect and where stories come alive in front of a crowd that truly cares.

We run seasonally, every three months, not just once a year, giving filmmakers more chances to share their work and get involved.

Our team previously ran the Made In Melbourne Film Festival (2009–2016), and as indie filmmakers ourselves, we’re here to support fellow indie voices, build a network, and bring people together around the thing we all love most: powerful, personal, unforgettable short films and solid storytelling.
